Terms & conditions

1. Application of the terms of transport

The transport conditions are contractual terms between the traveler and the taxi driver and/or taxi centre.

Booking a taxi

When ordering a taxi through central, when ordering by telephone or in another way, the customer must provide relevant information that may be necessary for the execution of the assignment. If a specially equipped vehicle, extended seating capacity or special equipment (special transport) is required, the customer must state this. If the order concerns e.g. more than four passengers and it turns out that the actual need is reduced, remuneration and the like are calculated according to the order.

The traveler is particularly recommended to plan the taxi journey, so that any delays are taken into account and especially so that the recommended arrival time at terminals and airports is observed. This is particularly important if the taxi journey correlates with other transport, for example by boat, car, train, plane or other form of transport.

When ordering a taxi with more than 4 passenger seats, the company reserves the right, in order to ensure delivery capacity at the time of the assignment, to send several smaller cars, rather than one or more maxitaxis.

The price charged will then be in accordance with taxi meter price per car. The price of the delivery may then deviate beyond the assumed calculated price of a maxitaxi.

Assignments that have been booked in advance and where a car has been assigned can be canceled up to 30 minutes before the assignment starts. If canceled later than 30 minutes, a fee is charged (minimum price)

3. Use of a stop. Priority to taxi.

In the event of a queue at a bus stop, the taxi driver must drive the passenger who is waiting for the turn. Sick, disabled people and people with small children have priority for taxis. Otherwise, the provisions laid down by the authorities on priority rights for taxis apply.

Travelers from a bus stop are entitled to preferential access to an available taxi. The public at the stop are directed to the first available taxi, but they have the right to choose a taxi themselves. Taxis that may be at the front of the queue must, if necessary, be moved to make room for exiting. When boarding, the traveler must state his destination, any form of payment other than cash payment and any other conditions of importance for the execution of the assignment.

4. Praiing outside the stop.

When the taxi is unoccupied, the taxi driver must ensure that the unoccupied light is on and visible to the public. Outside of a distance from the nearest stop, specified in the centre's driving regulations/driver instructions, the driver can pick up passengers who give clear signs, as long as stopping and boarding can take place within the framework of the applicable traffic rules and without obstructing other traffic.

5. Taxi driver's right to refuse trips

The taxi driver can reject an intoxicated person, travelers who act threateningly or people who, for other reasons, the taxi driver finds a factual reason to reject. The traveler has the right to bring a guide dog. If a person is refused, the taxi driver can claim remuneration in accordance with the face value of the taxi meter.

6. Execution of the assignment

A taxi driver must follow the route that takes the shortest time to the destination, unless the traveler decides otherwise.

Taxi drivers must, on request, take passengers to different locations on the same trip (combination of trips). Unless otherwise agreed, the passenger who disembarks last is responsible for paying for the trip. Responsibility for the mandatory use of seat belts and, where appropriate, that a child seat is securely fastened, follows the provisions of the Road Traffic Act. A person who needs assistance from a taxi to the front door or similar can request assistance. Assistance the taxi driver provides to the passenger, at his request, to, from or outside the means of transport is at the passenger's risk.

During the trip, the driver and passenger must behave so that there is no danger to fellow road users, luggage, car and equipment. Smoking in taxis is prohibited. Drivers' use of mobile phones, computer terminals and the like during assignments must take place in accordance with the centre's regulations. Car radios can be used with the traveller's consent. The taxi driver may require advance payment for the trip.

7. Waiting time, interruptions and delays

When picking up passengers and while driving, the taxi driver must wait for a time interval stated in the driving regulations/driver's instructions, unless otherwise agreed. For special driving assignments such as driving to the doctor, weddings, christenings and funerals, the waiting time depends on the nature of the assignment. In the case of pre-booked taxis, actual arrival may differ from the booked arrival time.

Booking a taxi in advance is to be regarded as an advance direct booking. There is no extraordinary liability beyond the corresponding direct order and its rejection, beyond if a proportionate additional benefit has not been paid for the order. If a trip has to be interrupted due to a fault with the vehicle, the taxi driver is not entitled to payment for the journey carried out, if he cannot find another taxi within a reasonable time. If a new taxi is obtained, the taxi driver can claim payment for what he has driven, minus the new taxi's arrival price.

If the passenger does not want another taxi, the taxi driver is entitled to payment for the journey carried out. If a trip is interrupted due to weather and/or road conditions, the taxi driver is entitled to payment for the distance driven. Delays due to traffic and meteorological conditions do not entitle the traveler to a reduction in the total fare.

8. Payment, exchange and receipt

The taxi central's rate regulations and price regulations are used as the basis for the rate calculation, unless otherwise agreed. Taxi trips can be paid for by bank, credit card or TT card, or with cash. When using a requisition or another form of payment, this is agreed with the central office or taxi driver before the start of the trip.

Taxi drivers are not obliged to exchange larger banknote amounts than stated in the central office's driving regulations/driver's instructions. Driving in connection with the exchange of larger amounts is charged to the passenger. The taxi driver is obliged to give the passenger a dated receipt on request. The receipt must state the taxi driver's name, the taxi's license number, the passenger's boarding and disembarking location as well as other information that is necessary to check that the remuneration has been calculated in accordance with the applicable fare regulations.

In taxis with receipt-writing taximeters, this must be used when printing a receipt. If you wish to drive on credit, each individual assignment will be invoiced with a surcharge, a minimum of 20% of the trip's price, but not less than NOK 200. The surcharge can be adjusted after an assessment by Siddis Taxi. There may also be other surcharges and additions, e.g. but not limited to, infection prevention surcharges, tolls, extra time spent on closed roads, etc

9. Security for payment

The taxi driver must notify the taxi center as soon as possible and within 24 - twenty-four - hours of items received as security for payment. Public documents such as passports and driving licences, are not accepted as pledges. The taxi driver is obliged to give the passenger a receipt on the centre's approved form for the deposit received. The pledge receipt must include the driving route, amount of travel, fee, time and place for returning the pledge. A promissory note, approved by the taxi centre, can be used as an alternative to a deposit in connection with security for payment.

10. Baggage and the like

The taxi driver must help place luggage and other items in the taxi. The driver can reject luggage and other items which, due to their size or design, are not suitable for being transported in the taxi. If the traveler wishes to bring luggage beyond what can normally be expected to be included in an ordinary taxi, this must be reported to the central office when booking. If possible, the center can convey the assignment to a taxi adapted to the nature of the assignment.

11. Lost property

After each trip, the taxi driver must immediately check whether anything has been left behind in the taxi, so that forgotten items can be returned to the right person immediately. If this is not possible, the driver must deliver items left behind in the taxi at the location designated by the central office within 24 hours. He is obliged to take proper care of the object.

12. Liability

  • Injury to person
The carrier's liability for injury to persons during transport is regulated in more detail in the Motor Liability Act. The carrier must have insurance in accordance with the requirements laid down by legislation.
  • Luggage and other goods
If hand luggage or things that travelers bring with them are lost in whole or in part, or such items are damaged during the journey, the carrier is obliged to compensate for the loss or damage, if the loss or damage is due to errors or negligence on the part of the carrier. For damage to and/or loss of luggage or other things the passenger brings, the carrier's liability is limited to NOK. NOK 60 per kg. of the part of the goods that is lost or damaged.
  • Delay
We will send a taxi immediately when and order arrives, the taxi driver will be held responsible for any delays. Liability does not exist if the delay is due to the passenger or
circumstances which the taxi driver could not avoid and if it follows that he could not prevent, in which case the taxi driver must be notified within a reasonable time that the order cannot be executed or will be delayed. The customer can then choose alternative solutions.
  • The traveler's responsibility
The traveler is obliged to compensate for damages or other costs incurred in connection with the assignment, which are caused by the carrier through carelessness, intent or negligence. This can, for example, but is not limited to, destruction of doors, vomiting in the car, theft of equipment from the car or driver. Vomiting in a taxi will require payment of a minimum of NOK 1,000 against the driver providing a receipt for payment.

13. Rules for disputes

Disputes between the traveler and taxi driver that cannot be resolved between the parties, the traveler can submit to the central office.

14. Complaints, deadlines and limitation

Anyone who wants to claim compensation for loss must notify the carrier and/or the exchange to which the carrier is connected without undue delay. Claims for compensation under these transport statutes expire after 1 month, unless other deadlines are to be applied in accordance with other legislation.

15. Information

The conditions of transport, together with the current tariff regulations, must be available in the taxi or on the company's office/website and shown to the traveler on request. By ordering or booking an assignment, the customer accepts these terms.
